- Accumulator
- Another term for a parlay, where multiple selections are combined for a larger potential payout.
- Arbitrage
- Taking advantage of differing odds across sportsbooks to lock in a risk‑free profit.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money you have set aside for betting.
- Bonus Wagering Requirement
- The number of times you must bet a bonus amount before you can withdraw any winnings from it.
- Cash Out
- The option to settle a bet before the event ends, letting you take a reduced payout rather than waiting for the final result.
- Dutching
- Betting on all possible outcomes of an event in such a way that you guarantee a profit regardless of the result.
- Free Bet
- A promotional token the sportsbook gives you that can be used to place a bet, with any winnings usually returned without the stake.
- Futures
- A bet placed on an event that will be decided later, such as which team will win the tournament.
- Handicap
- An advantage or disadvantage assigned to a team to balance the chances of winning a bet.
- Kelly Criterion
- A formula that helps you decide how much of your bankroll to bet based on the edge you have.
- Lay Bet
- Betting that an outcome will not happen, typically used in betting exchanges where you act as the bookmaker.
- Live Betting
- Placing a wager on a match while it is already in progress, with odds that update as the game unfolds.
- Maximum Payout
- The highest amount a sportsbook will pay out on a winning bet, regardless of the true odds.
- Moneyline
- A bet on which team will win a match, with odds expressed as a positive or negative number indicating the potential profit.
- Odds
- Numbers that show how likely an outcome is and how much you can win relative to your stake.
- Over/Under

- Parlay

- The requirement to turn over a deposit or bonus a certain number of times before cashing out.
- Settlement
- The process of finalizing a bet after the event ends and determining whether the wager won or lost.
- Stake
- The amount of money you risk on a bet.
- Vig
- The commission a sportsbook charges for taking a bet, built into the odds so the book makes a profit.
- Void Bet
- A bet that is cancelled and all money is returned, usually because the event was postponed or the market was ruled invalid.
